Beneficiaries
The beneficiaries of the
programme are the regions hides and skins, leather, footwear and leather goods
manufacturers, especially the SME sector. The target beneficiaries during the
first phase of the programme are to be selected through special selection
process including submitting a specific application to request inclusion of
active participation in the programme as beneficiary/contributor and cost
sharing partner. Annex 3 provides details on the selection process and the
application form.
The priority will be on SME development in the three sub sectors of the leather
sector, i.e. Tanning, Footwear and Leather Goods
Targeted number of enterprises and intermediary organisations within strategy:

Component 1: 12 tanneries, 6
footwear and 6 leather goods companies plus intermediary organisations
(associations and training institutions)

SAF+EAF companies from leather sector, plus 3 ACP intermediary organisations
